17 years and still hungry

It all began in April 2001:
When our gbr was founded, we didn’t have a name. Out of a rented office in hamburg, the three of us were looking after our first clients. Clients like vodafone with their motorsports and beach volleyball activities, the Germany tour as well as janz and raschke printing systems.
And then it did become necessary to come up with a name that matched our philosophy – freiland (german for “freeland”).
freiland is a synonym for the space, which we need to utilize in order to find and try out the best possible solutions for our clients, to experiment and to continuously further optimize the results. after the first year and the usual ups & downs, we found a new partner in berlin and at the same time founded a limited company in hamburg.
when we moved to an office of our own in hamburg-eimsbüttel, our client portfolio also grew: die hafencity, der axel springer publishing house, lamborghini and many small and medium sized companies put their trust in our services, and still do so today. we developed, among others, the internet portals and web-specials for draftcb, publicis, jung von matt, grabarz und partern as well as leagas delaney.
freiland continued to thrive along with a growing team of employees, which enabled us to also expand our range of services.
the internet agency became an agency. as we were able to win more and more international clients, our office in berlin began to take on a larger role. berlin developed from a one-man-office into an independent limited company. in 2010, vienna became the third limited company. the new location, which was planned exclusively as a conceptual studio, has shown outstanding development. and so vienna is now freiland’s conceptual and creative center. our focus lies explicitly on the development of integrated brand concepts.
we know what we mean when we talk about “integrated communication”; we mean services that range from developing logos, corporate identities and design, to interactive media (internet and apps) as well as exhibition and trade fair design.
